Nice!:thumb2

Have you had your lower shock pivot bolt out lately?...... If not, I'd be spraying it with Plus Gas :pissl today rather than wasting time on here.:D

Timpo.

Very Nice, every bike looks better with a touch of gold and blue.
Your delivery drivers are obviously a bit more proffessional than mine. FedEx delivered my Touratech bash plate yesterday and even though my son was at home they put an illegible note through the door with "Delivered to - Bl**bin" on it.
After asking the neighbours, looking in the shed and all around the house we sat trying to figure out the cryptic message until my son said maybe it is Bluebin. As a last resort I went out thinking noone in their right mind would stick a £120 package in the bin and there it was stuffed in my neighbours blue recycling bin.

Just as well!

Some months ago i enquired to continental if there was a service centre for the air shocks they produce.

The reply today states no! Please refer to your BMW dealer.

And at £700 for a replacement, the ohlins seems the sensible option!

Took your advice (and Micky's) and went to the local engineering supply shop (needed some stainless cap bolts too) and bought some PlusGas and a long shank 10mm allen socket to access the recess bolt

Sprayed with PlusGas and left it for 10 mins, then 19mm spanner on the nut and 3/8 breaker bar/allen socket and it undid easy-peasy (in - situ) on the side stand with wheel on, so tomorrow I wheel remove the wheel and replace now the lower shock mount is feed off ok:thumb

Looks that way and s/hand Conti Airshock may be worth a bob or two, in the future:augie;)

It was a bit less that £700 too for the Ohlins:bounce1

Looks lovely, I`m sure you will post a picture of it fitted, I undid my lower shock pivot bolt recently, just to make sure I could.... lots of ACF 50 on it now:beerjug:

When my original shock started squeaking and BMW agreed to replace it under warranty, Ocean couldn't remove the bottom bolt. They ended up replacing the swing arm as well.

When I got the bike back I made sure the bolt was well greased and stuck a wine cork in the hole to keep the water out. 18 moths later when I decided to re-grease the swingarm bearings it came apart without any problems.

I had a new sidestand delivered yesterday for my Beta trial bike as the other got bent and split. The postie put it through the letterbox and it got wedged behind the door where my mother put all her weight behind it to get in and bent the new one:blast

How much was the shock if you don't mind me asking (I take it its a new one). I can't explain how much a hate the air shock on my X-Challenge (I didn't mind it on the HP2:nenau
