I am probably being precious but I can hear a clatter on the left side which I feel can either be end float or push rod. Motorworks do not stock new pushrods so is this unusual?
I will inspect and check the end float but just wondered how common the noisy pushrods are in case I need to source some new ones?

Rattly pushrods can and do happen.. It's not common, but it's not uncommon. It's a tappity noise rather than a clatter.

Surely it's easy just to check it instead of guessing and hoping.

You are correct and I realise it needs checking. I've already replaced the left side cam chain tensioner and realise I need to check valve clearances and end float. I will only truly know once I've checked those but the lack of new pushrods got me wondering.

BMW sell them, and for the same price as motorworks used to sell them. Don't always presume that the aftermarket suppliers are cheaper on all parts.

OK, thank you. I didn't really consider that.
