Ok what do you lot recon, I have a net book that a v-young future computer tec has enabled the bios startup password and has no clue of what it was. Now I know that to reset the bios P/W you have to remove the bios battery :rob this involves taking the bloody thing to pieces and voiding the waranty. So do you think that if I freeze it it will temporarily knock the bios battery out and reset the P/W without all the work :clap

World's first superconducting laptop.

No idea if it will work or not, but a creditably bonkers idea.

Its in LOL in a sealed bag. (done before fanums reply) will give it a few hours then take it out and leave it until tomorrow to make sure its fully defrosted. Then if its unsuccessful I will try all the stuff on fanums link, thank you :beerjug:

Oh well didnt work, not sure it got cold enough to knock the bios battery out. So I ended up taking it to pieces and un plugging the bios battery, I did try some of the codes in fanums link (bookmarked) But ultimately I like taking things apart :hammer I will try freezing another one for a bit longer and see if that resets the bios :D
