They work fine, make sure to keep them tuned to the PMR 446 frequencies. To connect to the autocom you need a Kenwood cable. Look on the net and download the latest programming software (asusming you have a cable) as it's much easier that programming on the radio.

Worth looking at a battery eliminator and keeping them permanently wired to the bike like I do.

thanks for that , just need to find out what kind of battery eliminater i need , sorry to sound dumb , but i am totally new to this kind of technology !!!,
i am assuming you have these radio s steve ??, and they work fine ??...:D:thumb:hide :hide

They work very well. I got my battery eliminator from eBay, snipped off the cigarette lighter plug and wired it directly to my switched fuse box. Reception is great even under the saddle in a ziplock bag

Be very careful what you snip off!

I snipped of the plug of eliminator, but the plug had the voltage convert circuitry in it, thank goodness I tested before connecting the eliminator cable direct to the bike because 12v would have fried the radio!

Oh, and do a search on 'Puxing' lots posted on here...

ok thanks for that , i will be careful , it sounds like i might be better to get the 888 , what do you think ??

The transformer part on mine was in the actual false battery bit. So I was able to snip off the car plug part and replace it no probs. I ordered mine from the same company I got the radio from here.

Radiofactory, that's the same people I bought mine from, fine to deal with and you can't beat that price can you!

I could have repaired the cable on my eliminator, but at that price I just ordered another, while it was coming I wired a single car type socket on a lead to my 12v supply and just plugged it in. It does make it very easy to remove or plug something else in like a tyre pump.

I like the 888 more than the 777, seems marginal better made to me. As for getting it going on the bike, after my last failed effort (possible headset mic problem?) for the Orkney trip its slid to the back of the queue to be done now :(
