After just one year I'm part exchanging my 90th Edition RT with 6000 miles under my belt for a Mulistrada GT.

I don't think the quirky boxer engine and much lower power suited our riding. I will agree it's an awesome machine, completely flawless but for us too heavy, too bulky and too slow.

The drop of power from the K1300S to the 1200RT was just too much. I wouldn't be surprised if we came back to an RT at some stage but would have been really happy with a K1300GT if they had continued to make them.

Will still be riding the F800GS and remain a paid up Tosser. I have a brand new Cymarc crud catcher and some Nippy Normans pannier protection.

By pannier protection are you talking bars?

I'm just about to buy a pair so please get in touch

Nic

No venture shield from nippy Normans and a crud catcher from Cymarc.

Tried a K1600?

We tried the K1600 before the RT, obviously more powerful and plenty of speed, but very large and difficult to manoeuvre in our drive. I have to ride in over gravel to get to the paved area then effect a 8 point turn to reverse into garage so I can ride straight back over the gravel to leave.

The K1600 was also very expensive.

Whilst at KnockHill for the racing yesterday, I saw and sat on the Multistrada, nice bike, but if you get anything other than the base model, they are very expensive. No electric screen or heated seats either.
Build quality looks quite good though.

You obviously didn't read the small print when joining this place.

"No UKGSER will trade in a nice bike without first offering it to the forum members at the trade in price" ;)

You don't need a heated seat, the engine/exhaust does that for you. Personally I can't see that I will miss the electric screen, the manually operated screen on the GT is a doodle to operate. The only thing I expect to miss is the shaft drive.

I hope the RT goes to a good home, I looked after it, garaged and kept it clean so someone will get a nice bike.
