Pyrenean Adventures - The movie

Thank you for your kind replies.
Just found out, that I forgot to insert some pics from the first part of the journey yesterday:

The Cabo de Creus is a magnet for all sorts, from tourists to die-hard hippies and drop-outs – and plenty of people who call themselves both. Neill from the UK, is one of them. In the sidecar of his positively biblical Suzuki, you’ll find not just his lounge and his bedroom, but a sound-system he attached as part of what he calls a mission. In a state induced by an overdose of mind-expanding substances, he found his brain telling him to start driving around the world with a motorbike disco and put people in a good mood as he went.

The coast road to Collioure is an absolute cracker.

From Colera to Collioure

In our favourite basecamp in Prades(F) we've met one of the most interesting pillions. Helmet: Ex-handball. Goggles: Kiddy ski goggles

Ride on little tiger!

Leaving Prades towards Sournia takes us along the Orgues d'Ille

For those who'd like to have the HD-version: We're working on the HD-download on vimeo. But that will take a few more days.

Have a nice one from rainy Germany

Hi everyone,
here's an update with some more pics.

We've spent a cold night near the abandonded village of Montgarri. But we're hoping for better weather for the next stage that will take us to one of the highlights in the Pyrenees: The Pic du Midi.

IMG_0791.jpg

On top of the Pic de Midi is an observatory. I decide to visit the starwatchers meanwhile Andy stays in La Mongie to watch some footy.

IMG_1475.jpg

Up we go! The ascent with the cable car is in two stages. What you see here is already the second stage that covers amazing 2,5kms with no support.

IMG_0733.jpg

On top of the Pic you feel like on a ship in an ocean of clouds. Majestic!

IMG_9313.jpg

Because the Pic is on not in the line of the other peaks of the Pyrenees you're having a brilliant panorama that stretches from the Med to the Atlantic.

And when the sun has set ... (in the meantime: Andy couldn't find an open bar to watch the game. Somehow I had the impression that I took the right decision :beerjug:)

IMG_0718.jpg

It might have been due to the long night with the starwatcher: In Gavarnie, a remote village, we've stopped at an intersection not sure about which way to take. Engines off, discussion, decision, engines on.
Stephan makes a half a metre (probably in second gear) and the engine of the Tenere dies. Surprised by the sudden misbehaviour he couldn't hold the bike and let go. Onto me with the KTM. Ever tried to hold two bikes? In the end ...

IMG_1481.jpg

Just opposite on the Spanish side the Ordesa Nationalpark is waiting for us. Of course: All the paths inside the park are closed for public traffic. But in the vincinity there's so much to explore!

Thanks a lot Dave!
Our minds are already busy with new ideas. Maritime Alps, Morocco, Namibia ...
But that will take a while to make them real.

Cheers
