Hi peeps,
In the early stages of planning a trip to Spain in October riding down thru France & down to Calpe in Spain. In mid October is the weather still good enough to ride thru the Pyrenees or can i expect snow?

As Johnny said, we were fortunate with the weather and had heavy rain twice in a week, it's Northern Europe and it's in the mountains so it's going to be changeable, wear the right kit and you should be ok with the weather and as a bonus the roads should be largely empty-enjoy :D

Thanks guys,
Initial plan was for 1st week in sept but now can't get the appartment in Calpe til mid october. Wifey & inlaws fly down (saturday to saturday) & i leave on thursday before, this should allow me 3-4 days to get there.:D
sound like a plan:bounce1

Hi there,

October is great, very comfortable day time temperatures, not as wet as May for example, all the passes will be open and normally no hint of snow. In fact November is still pretty good! Also a quiet time of year with most of the tourists having gone and very few camper vans. Only downside that I can think of is shorter daylight hours and lower sun in the sky.

Went last October as well.

Weather was great and nice empty roads.

Suggest you consider trawling through Els Ports area on your way down...about half way between Barca and Valencia.
I do this trip every year and go for Ax le Thermes, Puigcerda down through Manresa to Montblanc.......
Mind you, Llavorsi down to Sort and Tremp into Mequinenza is pretty cool too!
Come to think of it, there isnt a bad one!
