Hi

I'm interesetd in powering a Navigo sat nav which has a mini usb connector and requires a 5V input. Can any body tell me if the Q-Power Lite 03 will do the job ?

If so, can you tell me how I connect it ? I'm guessing I could either:- fit terminals to the bare wires and connect these directly to the bikes battery terminals.... Or connect the negative to the neg battery terminal and the live tap into a switched live so power goes on and off with the ignition ??

Can you tell me what switched live I could use on a 2006 R1200GS Adventure ?

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Andy

Andy,

I did reply to an earlier pm and the answer is it may work but its untested with a Navigo gps device, so whether its a Q~power lite, CLC04B and I notice a post regarding the zumo charger, there maybe trap you're falling into is assuming its a charger with a mini-usb socket.

It does not necessarily follow that cos its a 12V charging device (Vreg chipset circuit) and provides a 5V regulated output via a mini-usb connector that it shall work.

The mini usb connector has 5 pins and 4 pins are used to give you..
Ground
Vcc 5volt power
Data in
Data out

:augie its the last pin which the manufacturer may use for product or data ID , which means only certain or specific devices may work that it recognises. Not sure if this tales out of school ?

You could take the ciggy charger from the Navigo and wire into a power socket for under the seat, bearing in mind you may need to add a canbus adaptor as previously mentioned. At least this charger will recognise the device and work with it.
