Quest and 2610 software loading

I have a Garmin Quest with Mapsource V8 which is all loaded up on the pc, and have just recieved my 2610 from GPS warehouse, can I use the mapsourse V8 to start the 2610 up or do I have to go through the process of loading all the software that came with the 2610 which is Mapsource V7

I've just done it...

You just need to go through and unlock the maps using MapSource - you are allowed to have 2 units with the same maps ... so as soon as V9 arrives both with be upgraded.

Problems so far:

1) The unlock process failed due to the MapSource programme being outdating ... just needed to download the new version 45Mb!

2) Transferred just the UK across to the unit using the 2Gb card maps appeared but disappeared with bad format error when I cycled the power - just reloaded with the original Sandisk 256Mb card and powers on and off with the maps ok!
