Quest Cradle Audio Output

I have a Garmin Quest, which I use in a Garmin powered motorcycle cradle. Is my audio output the same as others, in that, the output is variable from 1 to a maximum of 7? I find max volume a little on the quiet side at motorway speeds, and only adequate the rest of the time.
I've got the latest software downloads.

What are you using to pipe the sound into your helmet? I have an Autocom, which is very sensitive to the positioning of the speakers in the helmet. If they are a little off axis of the ear canal, the volume diminishes quite significantly.

I use a BMW sys 4 helmet, with comms installed by Sonic Communications.
