I've been toying with getting a GPS for a few months, but the £400 - £600 price tag has been putting me off for something that I'd just like to play with - I'm sure exactly how much I'll use it, or what functionality I'll appreciate. I was kicking myself a bit for not picking up a cheap quest from Halfools when they were doing them for £149 as it seemed like a good entry level unit, especially at that price.

Anyway, I'm in Halfauds in West Byfleet picking up some bits and pieces, when I thought i may as well ask about quests... and lo and behold, yep they had one left. Price, £149, but its the display model :) so a little more discounting was worth shooting for. Cant really go wrong at £130.

Question now is - is there anywhere in the South East that will be open over Easter that I could go to, to pick up the various gubbins needed to glue it onto a GS12? If I go with gpswarehouse then I guess i'm looking at delivery sometime next week...

Hi Jon,

Yep, but you still have two hours remaining to trundle over, cos I am on Easter Hols as well :D and looking forward to few days rest. The clock is ticking...

I found Halfords to be exceptionally unhelpful when it came to tracking down abranch that had a Quest for sale for £149 :spitfire

It was almost as if they couldn't be arsed either that or they were buying them for themselves and sticking them on e-Bay

See my other thread.

Maybe you were asking for a £149 Quest "that works"; while I just asked for a Quest...

Lumping f*ck! A Quest for £130! Well done!

To think I paid £400 18months ago!

Can't go wrong (and hopefully can't get lost either!)

yeah know what you mean, just got a load of "well they're not on the stock list anymore", "no I can't phone another branch" b*ll***s and after phoning about ten branches myself gave up. Anyhow all's well, just ordered one of the garmin SPIII refurbs which have suddenly appeared on the web. £150 with city nav 7 and all the toys, and my bike's already got the TT locking mount - job's a good 'un!

Just a thanks to Steve for helping out on Thursday.

Turned up at GPS Warehouse, got handed a pile of RAM-blah de blah de blahs and QWhatsits zippidy do's.

Unpacked, and bolted to the bike in maybe 15 minutes.

cool :)
