I've had a Quest for 6months or so... been fine, no probs, ...until last couple of weeks it keeps intermittantly losing ALL satelites. It goes from 8ish satelites all working perfectly to suddenly nothing (I'm not talking about the usual 1 or 2 coming and going).

Sometimes recovers within a few mins, sometimes half an hour.. it came and went 5 or 6 times in a 3-hour car journey.

Any ideas? Is it broke? Could it be bad aerial connection?

It's be good to know if anyone else has experienced this before I try for a replacement.

Thanks,

Paul

PS: How DO you spell satter-lights? sattalites... satellites... satallites... :o

Wasn't it Citroen's that did this ???

Quest definitely works through a Ford Mondeo heated screen :)

If not that then give Garmin a call.

Had my Quest replaced last month for a dodgy aerial........reception just cut out half way across morocco and it wouldn't see any signal......that was sudden though not intermittant like yours.

They advised me to do a hard reset first, then when it still didn't pick anything up they stuck a new aerial on :thumb

Turn it off then try .... power and zoom out buttons together

Are you Dr. Who ? That would do it.

If so you'll need the Garmin inter-planetary model 81876C - waterproof,too :thumb

Please alert NSA. Or else Independence Day will never come.

Thanks for all the suggestions and abuse.... I'll try the hard reset thing and if it doesn't work I'll get Rose to transport it back to Garmin. (I would do it meself, but I'm too busy keeping an eye on the Cybermen!)
