Ditto Tarka

Are you really going to use the Quest then Tarka...................the truth??

I can`t ever see me going through with all that mumbo jumbo posted by Whatton ,et al.

I don`t even have any map gizmoids on my PC.

For twenty odd years I`ve sat with a map and a coffee and simply chosen a route and written relevent 'bullet points' on a card then stuck it in a handlebar brace mounted map holder.

It`s never failed me.....I`ve gone door to door to destinations across Western Europe without any problems.

However....sometimes on 'little trips' the Quest could have been handy, such as New Years Day when I went to Papplewick Pumping Station. I knew exactly where I was on the map,but due to the tiny unmarked lanes I wasn`t sure of the way to get back onto my route.

Setting the Quest to 'Find Home' would have got me out easily.

Likewise,I admit that if roadworks, accidents or flooding (like in France a few years ago) had led to big detours, the Quest would get me back on route...but ONLY if I`d entered a route into it,so I`m back to PC mapping again...Doh  .

And,while the find petrol/accommodation,etc feature is handy,I`ve always managed fine without.

It`s a fabulous gadget,I`ll admit.....but to answer your QUESTion.....

Dunno really,mate.......... :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
