Gents,

Having managed to secure one of the £199 Quests, I now need a bike mount.

I am not too worried about a powered mount at this stage.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Dave

PS How long will the battery last on a non-powered mount?

Seek advice from RAM MAN. :thumb

I've been impressed with the products he recommends, and you could also get power for the QUEST using that route. The benefit of taking to the 'expert' (I hate using that term) is that if you tell hime your preferences for mounting point and Quest position, then he can then point out the multitude of choices.

When I saw the mounts on the WEB, I wasn't sure how strong :mcgun they'd be - but having used them - they could be as strong as the bike itself.

Hope this helps

I've found that using the back light all the time gives me a battery life of about 6 hours. No back light gives the 20 hours as advertised but I can't see the screen very well without the light on.

Touratech mount & Garmin motorcycle power/audio kit. Touratech do several Quest mounts, lockable and non-lockable. Starcom can also supply an audio jack plug & lead for your intercom if fitted.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I don't want to start another 'How do I mount my newly acquired from Dixons Quest" thread.
I tried PMing Ram Man but it didn't work. Inbox overflowing I guess.
So here's my Question:
I want to mount mine on my F650 Dakar behind the screen above the clocks rather than on the bars. Is there a suitable mount available that doesn't require too much modification to the bike? Or should I buy a cradle and lead, and try and fashion some sort of rig to hold it? I'm thinking something that would utilise the existing screen holes would be ideal.
Any suggestions?

Try searching the forum for the MigSel mounts. They may fit your purpose. I considered them - and they seem to be a pretty neat solution.

Hope this helps

>> the 650 has been done (a local rider, Jeremy I recall) did same. My thoughts is same parts as mentioned above. Also look at the RAM UK picture gallery which may help as well.
