How have people mounted their Quest onto the 1200?

Interested in any ideas.

Many thanks

Mike

Left bar with a Ram powered mount, i have a nippy Norman ( T T ) instrument cowl with extra power outlet. This is how i power the unit, i took the audio lead for the unit and power lead to the socket down the side of the tank. The power is via the battery so the socket is always on, the Auto Comm is under the seat. GPS warehouse sell the powered mount. hope this helps.
OH! if you use Auto comm for audio, you will need a filtre from them to stop the buzz.
Lyn.

mine's on a Ram mount fixed to the frame that holds the front screen. :thumb

Motorradconcepts mount above the clocks and behind the screen. Power from source just in front of tank. Audio via autocom.

This really interests me!

Any pictures please? Is it a standard u-bolt , arm etc attached to the bars by the mirror?

Thanks for your replies. Plenty to think about.

Ram mount on the left bar held with a U bolt and the bar protected with tape. No problem with vibration, in fact no prob at all.

Didnt bother with the power since the Quest will run for a day without external power and can be re-charged overnight. Didnt bother with the sound either - if ever I use the Quest in the car I always turn the sound off - it doesnt quite co-ordinate with the screen directions anyway. Plus I have enough women telling me what to do without adding another! :D

A Quest in the Garmin MC mount on a RAM mount clamped to the bar:

Same for me, but using the TT powered mount. I don't use the voice prompts though, they get on my tits.

I have a migsel mount (do a search in the GPS forum) and then two Ram connectors and a RAM diamond fitment to the cradle (advice coutesy of Ram Man).

The cradle is powered to the battery via the rear power socket. When the GPS is not in use, I just unplug and put the socket end in the tool kit tray. I did take the tank off to route the cable neatly.

It is a very neat, secure and flexible fitting. See pics on Migsel’s site.
