quest really waterproof???

did you check to see if you had the receipt and then double check the manual to be sure it could be submerged?
what you may have missed in the manual is that the test was done in salt water which is denser, you can only put a quest 10 cm in fresh water before it leaks

The ride back from Lands End killed mine, however the nice man in Garmins said they are waterproof and it was just bad luck my antennae failed during a four and a half hour ride in the pouring rain.
