Quest Software Release Question?

I've just updated my Quest to V3.30 software, but when on the Garmin download page, there was another update for the Quest:

xImage Ver. 2.3 as of March 23, 2005

Does anybody know what this is, and if it's necessary? Useful? etc etc?

I have no idea what it's for???????

It's an additional program, so useful that I've forgotten what it does. It's completely seperate, so if you've got broadband and/or the time, download it.

I believe it also enables you to use your own splash screen (the one that shows up when you turn the quest on) but I've not tried it.

Incidentally, just an idea.....change the welcome screen to have your name and telephone number in case you lose the thing....ya never know there might be the odd honest person out there

you can use it to send images etc to the quest, i think you can also use it to receive images from the quest too like a screenshot tool

Put your name and phone number on your GPS was the suggestion, not your address.

Any one tell me where the original version of x image is as I fancy the idea of being able to load a screen shot to the Quest.

I didn't instal it originally and now I don't know where it is

Brief Overview
What is xImage? xImage allows you to retrieve and update images on your GPS. For example, xImage makes it possible to get a screenshot from most GPS models. In addition, with certain newer models, xImage allows you to update some images (splash screen, waypoint symbols, etc.) with your own creations.
Technical support is not available for the xImage software.

am I to take it that you haven't used your home as the HOME location on your Quests?
That your Quest won't take you home, when you use the key shortcut?
