Having had major loading problems with my Quest packaged CD software I'm very unsure as to wether or not download the V3.3 software.

Have just got my PC back today, having had XP Pro re loaded, and now the Mapsource software is all loaded and I've even loaded the relevant bits of France on to the Quest.

I'm also unsure about downloading Mapsource City Select V7 for the same reasons.

Can anyone tell me the benefits of the V3.3 please?

OK!

I've been running V3.3 for a couple of weeks now without any problems and V7 has been loaded for a good while also without problems

The differences are listed on the Garmin website for each update

Both myself and Swooper use the same units, software and systems to organise our tours and everything is hunky dory!

Thanks Sherpa, I'll take a look at the site.

I've also updated to the latest software with no ill effects, the update takes seconds to complete and is very straight forward.

Do note though that the download site specifically states that Garmin DO NOT warranty any problems cause through the update, if it screws, you have to pay Garmin to fix if necessary !!!

(seems a little odd to me, conflict of interest?)

But this particular software update seems to be problem free...

Hi Stu,

Have just completed the update, not sure it's going to make a lot of difference but if I need to know the depth of some blue stuff I'll be able to get it apparently!!

Don't think I'm going to bother myself.......all of the changes are marine applications or irrelevant to my use, so why load a bigger programe that will use more memory??

Unless there's some feature on this version I've missed ?

Tip:- always put the update download into a different folder on your PC from the previous update download, that way if it goes tits up you can re-install the previous version using the uploader tool
