quest v3.7 update

I am trying to update my quest software from3.4 to 3.7. But am having dificulties. when I run the updater it canot find a file called garmusb, and the pc tries to find a unit pluged into a comm port, cclicking the usb option only gets an error saying no usb connected.

Any ideas?

Keith, not an expert on this by any means, but, have you by any chance connected the usb lead into another usb socket other than the one used originally (if you see what I mean?) USB connections sometimes throw a wobbler if you try and connect using a different port. Another occasional problem is when a camera is connected at the same time in a different USB port, dont know why but it has caused problems elsewhere. Hope this helps (if it makes any sense!!!)

Have you installed the latest version of the USB-driver from Garmin?

definitely something funny about this as the same thing happens to me. I have to plug it into a different port, then the 'found new hardware' wizard pops up..I have to effectively repair or reinstall the driver. The all is well..till the next time.

I think I read somewhere that plugging in a USB device before loading the driver causes this

fixed it

well I down loaded webupdater from garmin and had v3.07 installed in seconds.
