Quest - won't download maps

I went to the US in may, and uploaded US maps. I am now trying to reinstall Europe maps on the Quest ...

I can select maps, I can begin the download process but then I get either an error in download message , or it goes through the process and doesn't down load the maps

When I start up the Garmin , it goes through the upload process then stops and tels me that detailed mapping is not supported ....

It's a pain in arse !
Any suggestions?

have you the original disc?
you may need the licence code to install it?

i have the 06 version in my quest which i had to unlock with garmin home page.

Tried it again last night and the awkward little bugger then downloaded the maps !
But I went for about half the memory's worth ....
God knows why that should make a difference!

I'm assuming that it's an original Quest rather than a Quest 2. How much were you trying to fit on. The European Quest will only hold all of UK & Ireland plus a little of somewhere else, say North French coast.

The American Quest has half the memory of the Euro model and won't hold all of the UK.

243MB for the Euro model, around half that for the US version.

if ye touring Norway, just load up that part , and when ye get back to uk , just reload uk n Ireland

mine will get me to bulgaria on basic roads , so ye have a general idea where ye going

I the max I tried to load was 219 MB ... and it wasn't having that !
But now it is playing again, I'll give it another go ....
