May have been covered, apologise in advance if I have looked & not seen, do I require any thing more than Autocom pt no1294 to connect a Quest1 Q Pac 2.5mm mono audio out to Autocom Pro Duo in & is the Autocom end 3pole or 4pole, I find the Autocom info lacking in this area but it may be me being a little dense.

If the Quest 1 is to be bike-powered then you will also need isolator 1282 between the end of cable 1294 and the main unit.

Thanks for the reply Beemerboy, therefore I guessed at the correct lead at least, yes the Quest is bike powered, is the 1282 for noise isolation, why did I just know I would be shelling out again.

Ideally a Part 1285 would be more suited and more prefered for the Super Pro, you can then run a phone if needed straight into the AUX1 socket and not use it via a splitter that might drop the phone volume down slightly.

Sorry Rich I have missed that bit out, I am using a Part 1285 with 2.5mm mono at Q Pac end to 3.5mm into mono at 1285 then 1285 is plugged into Aux4 this should reduce by 50% volume anything in Aux2 & 3 on GPS transmission, is there any circumstance in which this would not occur.

As the muting is all worked out on the amount of volume coming in via the AUX4 sockets the Q Pac might not be supplying enough volume down the line to reduce the AUX2 and 3 sockets.

The GPS is a Quest1 and I have it on max volume delivery does that mean I will have to cope without the 50% reduction & nothing can be done.

Unfortunately the Quest were one of the lowest volume GPS's we have ever used or stocked from Garmin and we only stocked them for around a month due to this. To help you along with the problem we could mod your system to allow for more volume to come through your system but we can not say for definate if it will help to reduce the volume on the AUX2 and 3 sockets.

Many thanks for your input Rich, it's nice to know I'm not a complete dumpling & it is a known issue, I did trawl all the posts on here & couldn't find a mention of the Quest volume problem, quite surprising the number of Tossers who run/ran Quest & Autocom. Is the mod simple or complicated, if complicated will probably not bother just kill the ipod when the GPS instruction appears critical not ideal but not a show stopper. I assume the GPS volume through the headet will rise in line the vox requirement.

No worries at all, mod wise we would modify the circuit board so it would need to be returned back to us so we can carry out the work for you.
