Hi everyone!

I just bought some service items (filters etc.) from Motorworks and I found that none of the products are not packed with BMW part numbers and/or logo and the filters are Mahle/Knecht not BMW branded.
Previous times when I bought parts from BMW dealers all parts bags/boxes were carrying part numbers and BMW logo.
My question is :the parts sold by Motorworks are genuine BMW parts or some compatible aftermarket parts?
The guys from Motorworks were OK and nothing but good things to say about them but I just want to know if the parts are real stuff or not.

BMW Dealers will normally only supply BMW stuff.

Motorworks / Motobins Etc. usually stock BMW AND pattern stuff, but usually you have the option of chosing the brand when ordering (on-line, anyway).

Look at brake pads or control cables for instance.

I wouldn't worry about the quality; those guys know what they're about :thumb

A few years back I needed an anti-roll bar linkage for a Volvo 850. Went to my local Volvo dealer who quoted me £40 but a 3 week delay as there was no stock at the factory.

I then went to EuroCarparts. They quoted me £12 but also a 3 week delay as there was no stock at the factory.

Now tell me that wasn't the same factory!!

As for Motorworks - you'll need to ask them but I wouldn't be surprised if the stuff comes from the same factory.

Hello,

I have been using those brand of filters for the last 90K on an airhead with no problems (related to the quality of filter in anyway ) They prob make them for BMW and are packed in a diffrent box. I have bought filters from all the major spare companies and they all supply these brands. Hope that helps

I do believe if you get a standard BM K / Oilhead filter in your paw you will see Mahle written on it! at least they used to I've been buying motoroworks ones for years since I fell out with "Hurts" our local stealership
