Question after getting Off at Stavanger

Do I get straight on the ferry to Strand or Do I ride the 50 or so mile around the bay to Strand.

Any ideas which is quicker overall, hoping to get up as far as Voss on the first day but want to stick to smaller minor roads most of the time

I say go for the ferry to Tau (Strand) The other options still incluedes a ferry and the scenery along the route is not bad once out of Stavanger and Sandnes, but generally not worth the time if you are going all the way to Voss (you will have plenty of Norwegian nature to enjoy anyway).

the ferry it is then, i stillneed to find someone who has any knowledge of Unpaved roads in Norway and Sweden, according to the trip i have mapped out in mapsource there is about 2-300 miles of unpaved roads in both Sweden and Norway, but mapsource does not give any indication of what is meant by unpaved ??

this could be anything from nice gravel to pukka mud offroading which could be a bit too much for a 2 fully kitted out Adventure bikes

anyone shed any light on the matter, particularly the areas around Ostersund to Lillehammer and further North around Arjeplog to Sorsele
