I know a few of you have had this done through Melvin and I was hoping for a bit of feedback, are you happy with the result? can you do longer distances? Does it cramp your legs?

Thank you in advance...

;)

Seat

I bought a Melvyn hunter seat (2nd hand) with gel pads and a heating element and think it's far more comfortable than the original.

And on those cold mornings the heating element is fan fuggin tastic!!:D

Mee Too

I have a Melvin seat and the gel pads he uses are excellent, if he had done a heated version at the time I definitely would have had that.

I have done 500 mile days with no problems whatsoever, I reccomend it to the house.
Because I have long legs I had the seat made thicker at the front with a bit out of the back which alters the rake angle so I'm sat back a bit.

My seat was Melvyn'd a few months back and he is now able to offer a thicker gel insert if you want!

The seat is 100% better than the original and I was able to ride from Coventry to West Cork in Ireland in one go no problem!!

The original is like a plank of wood in comparison.

IMHO I think its a good starting point for extra comfort.
:D

I'm thinking of having my Adventure seat re-covered, and have contacted Saddle Craft - someone from here recommended them. Has anybody had any dealings with them? They certainly seem very efficient from the e-mail I have received. Are there other companies that are recommended. The estimated cost was £65 for a straight re-cover.

Saddle Craft have told me that they can fit a gel pad if needed - at extra cost obviously. I find the standard seat quite comfortable, so is adding a gel pad worth it?
