Question to the moderators

The B and B section is fair game I guess, clue in the name, although it would help if folk didnt comment on areas in which they are not expert. I spout enough bollocks for everyone as it is:)

On a serious note I think the level of Moderation is about right, we have the ultimate moderator ourselves, the little "x" top right of the screen

Seriously though, what might be a dumb question to one person, isn't to another. Whoever gets given the mod power will be biased or prejudiced somewhere along the line so my preference is to leave as is and I will make my own mind up. Some posts are really good for humour value alone.

Another good reason why they should be forced to upgrade (that'd put an end to their boredom) or ship out and take their boat anchors with them.....:augie
 
Sometimes it's very difficult to tell the piss takes from the genuine questions. i.e "how do i get my 1200 off the centre stand" " should i take my panniers into the hotel with me" and numerous other gems.

And a lot of 1200 owners seem to think the 1200 technical section is where they have to post regardless of their question or agenda.

As that well known 1200 owner Descartes said " I think i own a 1200, therefore i do".

I see this SE GS parked up near Waitrose, Wapping each day..... The rider hedges his bets, obviously.

I am a member of one of the biggest photography forums and this thread relates to what was happening there.

There are alot of people on here that have been around since the biggening and see the same questions getting asked over and over and the longer they see them the less tolerent they get(not wanting to upset anyone its the truth to the longer standing members) and the solution was.

A dedicated basic question section where no matter how silly the question it got answered in a civilised responsible manner, no piss taking no bullshit answers and no abuse, so as not to frighten people off asking what they think is a genuine question but to others will seem daft, silly or down right ludecras. It was heavily modded at the start and it soon settled down and people join the site new to photography and could ask what ever the wanted, you will always get peopole that will help out newbies and you will always get people that donot want to asnswer that question again so thats fine they just stay out of that section.

lets face it, if you are just getting into bikeing again or even for the first time would you buy and older bike 1150 or before or anewer one, more so the latter but not always so it would be a 1200 so maybe thats why alot of what seem silly questions get asked in that section.

This is a good forum and very knowledgable people on it who have been around bikes all their lives, so have oodlews and oodles of experience, but sometimes you need to have real thick skin and be around awhile to get used to the banter etc etc.

Surely I'm not the only one who doesn't want to read such tiresome drivel, especially when the titles are not always very descriptive and you often open the thread with no idea that you'll be wasting your time.

Please can we get put all the nonsense somewhere more suitable like "Beakchat and Bollox", and get back to having a forum about the bikes?

I agree, in fact my last post "I havent dropped my bike" was made out of the same frustration:thumb
