ITYM "Bavarian".....![]()
It's a Bavarian. Bloody 1200 owners![]()
That section could probably be sold off to Saga.
of letters purporting to be part of the English language.
OK OK, I owe you a pint for excessive sarcasm and poor punctuation!![]()
Indeed. I've been barely fed all day in Manchester and put that post out after more wine than food: My blood-sugar level is starting to balance out now. Maybe that would keep some of the 1150 trolls away![]()

Off road course question

but ... it is a shame IMHO when there are plenty of places on the site that those types of diversions could be discussed on.
I totally agree that this forum for the gs should be for serious discussion and not for frivolous comment.
Too many people seem to enjoy taking the @iss out of gs newbies who think they have a genuine concern about their bike.
By the way, do you think that an Asda bag in the vario panniers would detract from the gs image or do you think I should buy the genuine inserts?
I only ask this as my friend has a set which I could borrow but the trouble is we always go away together!!!
Incidentally, I have seen much discussion about where you put the tax disc on the gs but still don't know the answer, please help.

And therefore the question is - why is there a moderator?

You wait til you need to top up the oil, whole new set of rules come in to play then![]()

There isn't.![]()

As an aside to Steptoe's observation vis-a-vis the 1200 owning numpty's: 'Shall-I-shan't-I-remove-my-panniers-at-night-when-staying-in-a-hotel-in-foreign-lands?' * . I have seen the bike everyday, one pannier removed. It's rather amused me.
If the bod would only buy a 1200 (it's a very shiny 1150, but the rear tyre is squared-off quite badly) and still perform the same trick each day, I'll gladly take another picture. Though I may post it in the 'Big boys' play area, with some cheery observation on the indecisivness of 1200 owners.
PS I'm surprised nobody has been along with a rebuke for showing the bike's number plate.... in case it's cloned by unscrupulous Mafiosi, or some such bollocks. It's parked in the same place every day - exploiting a gap in the yellow lines / on-pavement parking - a location first discovered by a scooter rider, of all people. Just goes to show how easy it is to find a nice bike to pinch....
*I recall Whatton (a Tosser who could understand and take a joke, now sadly missed) started a parallel thread in the pub, "Should I remove my underpants at night in a hotel?'
A dilemma that afflicts many adventurous souls.
I see this SE GS parked up near Waitrose, Wapping each day..... The rider hedges his bets, obviously.

. Clearly this 1150 own has one ass cheek bigger than the other and wishes to compensate for the weight differential. Alternatively he wishes to expel other types of exhaust over the left hand side of his bike and doesn't want to soil his other pannier. Perhaps it is to allow easier access for getting on the bike with his Zimmer frame?
