Quick ABS Warnig Light question

Oh dear - here we go again more tales of terrible 1200GS quality and reliability. Strange how so many 1200 owners are in total denial about the absolute rubbish reliability and build quality of the 1200GS. As I have said many times on here - "Don't shoot the messenger"

Paul, this is a technical section and the thread's about the ABS warning light - please note that 'banter' friendly or otherwise is best kept to the Beakchat & Bollox or the Rant Sections.

Statistics

In the past year (I have just read) BMW sold 39,000 1200GS's worlwide. I also noted that the 1200 flat twin motor was the powerplant in 61% of all BMW's sold in France. Surely thet must be doing something right!?

brake failure light

Guys,

not sure if it's associated with this thread but I keep getting the brake failure light and red triangle comes on for no reason! It's not a regular event, just every so often? :nenau Stop the bike - turn it off, turn it back on and caption goes out? :augie I've also found only a minor lose in braking ability when the light comes on?:nenau They still function better than my old Tiger even with the light on!!:thumb2
Threads on the site say you lose all brakes? I've not found that!
Just had it serviced today - told the dealer (CW Motorcycles, Dorchester) complete brake check and no problems found. Drove away from the garage and guess what!!! Took 3 goes at turning the bike off and restarting and riding away before it stayed off? They had just washed the bike - could that be an issue? :nenau
It's getting to be annoying to say the least. I commute 100 miles a day and yet it just seems to happen out of the blue?

Any clues:confused:

Geoff

Handguard

No possibility that the handguard is moving slightly and just touching the brake lever?
