I haven't read the advrider thread yet but it's important to check that all components are petrol safe, obviously :)

A lot of QD parts are designed for the brewing and food liquid industries.. afew minutes Googling with the specs as listed would confirm if they are :thumb2

i think bmw started fitting them as std. from 2001.

you should be able to see them if you look under right side of tank, behind side panel. do adv's have side panel?

and yes, i know they are the same way round. it's an old pic & i've fixed it since thanks

These are identical to the ones I have bought from Heine Gericke. Which is the correct way round please? There is no indication of flow direction on the QD body.

Noting that the ADV site is less than complimentary about plastic QD fitments are they a short term choice fraught with the chance of failure miles from anywhere?

TIA

Hose clamps

I looked at BMW ones to go on an 1100gs and got scared by the price. I've since bought a pair of nice little fuel hose clamps from the tool van man at work for £4 each and carry them in the tool tray. Works a treat.

In fairness, over time repeated use could damage the rubber fuel hoses, but I'm not over worried about it.

coupling

wanna check with you guys have you ever encounter while on the road, if you disconnect the coupling, it will not able to reconnected again. is it due to the expanded o-ring that is making the Ooh-ah....

It can be not-so-quick to reconnect sometimes. I wonder if some lube might help?
Nice digging BTW. :thumb
