Quick Reply brings up Quote ?

Howdy,

Recently, I notice that when I click Quick Reply, the reply window opens with the text of the last message in it as a quote. I am sure I am not clicking Quote.

Any have a clue why this is happening and how to stop it happening?

I never seem to be able to quote the previous post in the current one

I've never used Quick Reply.
What's the difference?

When using "quick Reply" there is an option to "Quote Message in Reply" just below and to the left of the box I am typing this into. If it has a tick in it, click on the box to remove the tick. My guess is that a cookie remembers the previous setting, defaulting to "on" if no cookie ?
