Quite happily in the real world
I remember a while ago someone posting about a new type of quick splice connector better than the dreaded Scotchlok's.

I think they were on an American web site from memory. Can anyone point me in the right direction please, I thought I'd bookmarked them, but hadn't :blast and Google is not helping.

They were more 'tubular/conical' shaped than Scotchlok's, & water resistant I think.

TIA
Mike

Posi taps and waterproof and reversible. They are on ebay in the UK. I have used them extensively on my GS with no problems from CANBUS on the good old British weather. I have also removed and reinstalled the whole lot (about 30 of them - HID, LED install) for an accident rebuild and the wires are still fine underneath (so you can remove you nice accessories and see on the bike with no quibbles). The posi locks and other posi-??? are for different tasks such as joining 2 or more wires (either in line or at the end). You need no special tools either. Incidentally they come in 3 coloured sizes which I think correspond to the colours for insulated blade connectors.

Tapping into canbus

Hi, I have tapped into the loom in a different manner. I bought an adaptor from Twisted Throttle in the States. This fits between the pilot light and it's power plug. This happily gives enough power to operate a relay, under the seat in my case. This I have used to work a Centech fuse panel from Nippy Norman, thus effectively giving me a secondary loom which now operates twin horns and LEDs on the brush guards with no problem. They have all been transferred from one bike to another without problems. This also provides for several other fused circuits as required.
Hope this is of some use.
