Quil Evo Exhaust

Don't know if it helps or not as I haven't got one on the GS but my wife has one on her SV650 and it is good quality and sounds great!

Anyone used one of these on a 1200gs?

Thinking of buying the Titanium one to fit onto my Remus headers http://www.quillexhausts.com/Details.cfm?ProdID=230&category=6

Had one on a CCM and was impressed with quality and value for money - plus they are made in the UK.

I had one and sold it on, I am a fan of quill and there kit is well built and quality, I have had many of my bikes fitted with them, on the gs though it didnt sound very good and melted my indicator so of it came !!

Basically it`s not a good sounding engine imo :( I`ve a Remus Titanium can on mine and it makes a nice crackle on the overun but the bike doesn`t sound as good as some.

Ive got Remus Titanium End Can for sale...just put it up in the for sale section! Only used on one trip, spotless!

Bos carbon end can arrived this morning - fitted at lunchtime (joy of working from home!) - great fit and sound with baffles in is very nice in combination with my Remus headers - very pleased :D

Hi

This is primarily for Paul S, but happy to hear from anyone else too!

I also bought one of Bahnstormers' £275 specials for my R1200GS. it arrived today, and looks nice. However, I am confused by the sticker - it has the BMW blue-white quarters as a backdrop, but says "F-Series". I expected it to say "Boxer technology" (as on the stock photo on the ebay advert).

Paul - what does your's say?

I can find no mention of BOS F-Series exhasts on BOS website, or elsewhere. The only BMW badged ones on BOS website are "K-series" (presumably for K-series bikes), and "Boxer technology" (presumably for the boxers). I am guessing F-series might be for the F-series bikes. Any ideas if this is wrong for an R1200GS?

cheers for any help.
Darren

Hi Mate - just checked mine and it says Boxer technology so they may have made a mistake. Give them a ring - they have a good reputation and so I am sure that they will sort it out.

Wow - cheers Paul for the super fast response - proof if proof be needed that the internet is good for more than just pornography.

With more diligent research I did find the F-series exhausts are branded for the F-Series BMWs. The question I might face - am I being petty if i think I'd prefer one with the "right" sticker if they both fit...thoughts?

Darren

If yours does have an F sticker on it then it is likely to be different from the correct boxer system - I would phone them to querry this before trying to fit it. I am sure that they would be happier taking it back unused than after an abortive attempt to fit it to your bike. :D

I just received 'one of the last two' special price BOS carbon exhaust cans from the Bahnstormer ebay deal (fast service - arrived in 24 hours). Mine also has a sticker saying 'F-Series', although the shipping box does say GS 1200 2004 model year or later

Did anyone find out if this type is OK for a 1200? Hoping to fit it tomorrow but hestitating now in case it has to go back!

Thanks

Hi Paul - just to let you know the outcome - turns out I had the right exhaust with wrong sticker - excellent service from both BOS (who were very quick with email response to my query saying they'd be happy to send out a new sticker if I wanted) and Bahnstormer. I had to go in to Bahnstormer to have an engine/gearbox leak looked at and so took the exhaust with me to confirm whether or not it was the right one. They comfirmed it was and pretty much insisted on swapping it even though I said I was happy to just get the sticker from BOS.

Cheers again, Darren

Hi - I didn't see your post before I posted my follow-up. I'd guess we both got a duff sticker. If it's any consolation, mine was replaced after you got yours, so Bahnstormer didn't just send you the one I took back!
Darren

Thanks for your feedback. Seems that we were the 'lucky' two out of 35 or so supplied.

I called Bahnstormer and they couldn't have been more helpful - They arranged a courier pick-up the same day and delivered a correctly badged can the following afternoon. They also made two follow up calls to check all had gone OK.

Planning to fit the BOS tomorrow along with some grip puppies. Thought I'd get all my swearing done before the new years resolutions come into effect!
