Quill Silencer

The remap is done on a rolling road so the fine tune will match the accessories fitted.
The ECU self adapts so you could fit the pipe etc after the remap. But it makes more sense to fit the goodies and then do the remap to match your bike.

The reason for minimal power improvement on tests is the OEM map runs the engine very weak as standard and the ECU adapts. A free flowing exhaust runs it even weaker taking the ECU to the edge of its adaptation limits.
Geoff told me to fit a dirty air filter and baffles because a long journey with weak air/fuel mixture will cook the exhaust valves. Also use posh petrol as that creates cooler exhaust gas than 95 (or less) RON.
Obviously fit a new filter and the baffles you intend to use when you arrive.
Soon after fitting my fancy pipe I bought a used Power Commander V which made a huge difference to the performance. It's a bodge (they just are) so one day it will get remapped or go for AF-XiEDs.

In noise terms, the Akraprovic shotgun is not offensive in town but it will really rip when you wind it up. It is less than ideal for riding without earplugs but at 70mph I get more front tyre noise than exhaust noise. That alone needs ear plugs.

I don't have any flat spot around 4000 revs, wonder if my bike has already been hilltopped?

It doesn't vibrate very much either, which also makes me wonder. Is there a register?

It's very possible that it has. Number of people on here who have had a re map and then changed bikes later, stands to reason there's plenty out there. Saved yourself £350!
Seen the same question about a register being asked recently. You could try to find the previous owner on the forum and ask them. You could try asking Geoff but, as someone else has said, he may be cagey about telling you in case it's an insurance investigator who's asking.
Or just enjoy.

A mate of mine took his 1200 TC to Hilltop and after the first run on the dyno Geoff said that it had been done. He checked his records and it had been by the previous owner and there was no charge.
I doubt Geoff would tell you over the phone as you may be a dealer trying to get out of a warranty claim etc but you can try.

Was being ironic, Bilco.
Since fitting the AF-XiED's mine pulls like a train from 2k rpm. Changing the exhaust isn't going to help that hole. Get the fuelling sorted first.

I did wonder.....:thumb

I have a PC111 and like yours it pulls smoothly from next to no revs.

Interesting. Bound to happen more and more as people get them mapped and then sell them on later.
Possibly this would indicate that Geoff doesn't actually keep a record of bikes he re maps? Why should he?
I was going to say that it could be an idea to record them on the forum somewhere. But we wouldn't want to make it too easy for the insurance companies, would we?

Bike is booked in with Hilltop for 17th June, will find out for sure then. Hopefully it has not been done and it will be even better :beerjug:

Can see this happening more and more as they're all running to get a Hilltop.
Then someone else gets the benefit when it's sold on.
Geoff's a good man when he doesn't charge after someone books a slot and finds he's been done already. As long as he doesn't get too many like it. :augie

Or he does the tune and charges anyway.
But running a business is about service and recommendations so he's more likely to take the hit and get a register sorted out.

Probably too late to start a register now.
I agree about service, recommendations and, occasionally, having to take a hit.
But. As a driving instructor, pupils were giving me less than an hour's notice that they couldn't do a lesson.
Different scale, but the same basic principle. I did run a proper business before I 'retired'.
When it reached the point that I was losing the equivalent of a full days lessons in a week, I had to tell them that I still expected to be paid if they cancelled less than 24 hours before.
Self employed or business owners have to watch their costs more so than employed. No ceiling to your earnings, but no floor either!
If it reached the point where Geoff was getting several slots in a week where the bike was already mapped, that's too much 'dead' time to ignore.
It's ironic, but he may will become a victim of his own success. :D
