Im at a trip far from home and it's impossible to start the bike without pulling the throttle fully open and getting on the starter button.
It takes about 7 seconds.

Once it starts it keeps idle and runs good.

It used to start fairly easy some days ago, just with a touch of the starter, no fast idle needed.

3 months ago i replaced fuel pump, filters, plugs, did valve adjustment.

All this happened, maybe coincidentally, after I poured a bottle of injector cleaner before i left for this trip.

The bike feels like it's flooded with gas and "coughs" upon start up.

Also some backfiring occurs

2003 single spark.

Any improvement in starting? I assume you have been using it and you must have run all the injector cleaner out?

Sounds like a dislodged throttle cable at the throttle body end

You usually need a lot of throttle to get it to start when that happens

Also have a look at the Throttle potentiometer on the left side IS there any chance you have kicked or knocked that ?

Hey guys, it was a faulty starter, drawing to much current. I found out by measuring voltage drop across the battery when hitting the starter button. It measured 0V.
