Correct, would it therefore be possible to post a photo of the line on a GSA for me to get a better idea, I had gathered that I needed a fuel pipe Mr Steptoe.........

No - add two - one 90deg QD per side. Makes removing and replacing the tank really simple - the connecting line just stays on the bike...
