r 1300 rs tank

i have been looking to change from my 1250 rs se ,to the r 1300rs se , looking at the black rubberised middle section of the tank .are there any known issues with this does anyone know how hard wearing it is ,is it resistant to any petrol that might splash on it when filling up, i personally would have preferred it to have been a painted finish , thanks

Good questions.... I've only had my 1300RS for a couple of weeks so can't comment.
However, despite being a bit dubious about the centre infill piece myself I've gotten used to it's appearance and don't mind it so much.
It really will be interesting to see how it holds up over time.... and how much it costs to replace it!

That’s what I was thinking. It would look terrible if it started to deteriorate or if petrol effected it
