Wunderlich Handlebar conversion for the BMW R 1300 RS - tubular bars

Some months ago my dealer mentioned that something is on the way. I was expecting it from BMW, guess is TUV approved so BMW knew about the project. One thing I can't find is how high/back are the bars. You need an adapter (#31002) for extending the clutch line which is included. Available in Oct. I did send them an email requesting further information.

Size according to their email.

The rise is approx. 50mm, backwards to the rider approx. 25mm.

would the factory extended height handlebar option be the simpler and least hassle / expensive way to raise the bars? mate ordered a new one with the higher bars which i sat on last sunday and it is surprisingly comfortable.

It is only 15mm higher. If you want the same on the 1250RS the cost is half, bar, riser, labor. If ordered from factory was around £250 on the 1250RS if I remember correctly. Ergonomics is very personal, what fits you doesn't fit others. As soon as you start changing seat height everything is changing including screen turbulence.

agree about the personal bit. It looks more that 15mm as i dont think BMW actually give a figure. I did compare two bikes that were side by side and it looked more than that but could be wrong. I was just highlighting the option route as IMHO it keeps the factory look and is slightly cheaper.

I think the dealer told me the measurements. No need for any adjustments, actually BMW doesn’t give measurements. Also it is cheaper than the 1250RS factory conversion. To me in the shop felt lower than mine.

Mates has the high bar option plus the Wunderlich spacers that go under them. Worth a look.

No, his came from the factory with the highbar option, then he added the spacers at home.
