Hi Chaps,
Anyone wiser than me on here have any experience with running Gerbings finest heated jacket on a stock feeble weedy R 80 G/S charging circuit?
From what I can see the output of the G/S alternator is a stirring 280 watts (presumably at full rpm) and the jacket runs at about 88 watts. Am I wasting my time here, should I just man up and take it, or can I allow myself a modicum of comfort for these old bones?
Im not running any other electrical loads (ie heated grips or seats etc) but my feeling is that its all a bit marginal if I have lights on and am running around town at lower constant rpms etc.
Thoughts or experience welcome
