Now lads. A lad at work has an R Nine T Urban that he wants de catted/tuned etc.... He doesn't do the World Wide Interwebs and would like info from someone who knows what's what with these machines in the Lincoln area.
Any suggestions that I can pass on to him please?

Booster Plug will solve most of his woes and put a smile on his face. TBH the R Nine T doesn’t fuel as bad as many of the newer ones.
Still, good starting point 🤔

The absolute ‘go to guys’ for Rninet tuning are Pier City Cycles but they’re in Sussex. Their workshop is always full of bikes being worked on.

……….and take your credit card!!
Not cheap, but they are good.
My favourite of their goodies is the air box conversion (read removal). Quite a job removing standard one without hacksaw though 🤔

I’m past 10,000 miles on mine now. Fuelling isn’t great but it’s better than my 1250GS.

IMHO there’s very little to be gained from tuning these things. The most significant improvement you can make to the way they ride is binning the shock and the fork inners. Even Gonzo (suspension guru of this parish) throws the OEM components away when he’s asked to upgrade theses bikes - and his proud boast is how he can fix or improve the unfixable or the improvable.

He showed me the crap he took out of mine. Anybody who is unsure about the quality of the new Chinese bikes needs to see the shit BMW put into some of theirs. The stuff on my Raleigh Chopper was better.

Oh and Unit Garage…

They’re good to deal with but their business is not tuning, it’s tarting up. They’re very good at it and I like them but they’re not Hilltop Geoff.
