Hi everyone i am in the market for a set of Textile Jacket and jeans.I was looking at a set of R S T Paragon 2 Jacket and Jeans at a local bike shop on Saturday and am quite tempted .Has anyone got a set and what do you think of them Waterproof wise comfort wise etc ,I also saw the Hein Gericke T R G Desert Jacket and Jeans at around £ 50 more than the R S T Gear .I have a set of Hein Gericke tuareg Jacket and jeans and find them to be very comfortable and i think good value for money. So if you were me would you go for the R S T Gear or the Hein Gericke Gear.Francis:nenau

Hi,
I have got a RST Ventillator II jacket and some half leather/textile trousers bought it for the summer this year. I found out the hard way about the problems with the trousers they are not breathable and the sweat made them horrible to wear. The jacket is quite nice (strips out to a mesh style jacket) but I wouldnt want to have an accident wearing it.... I normally wear Dainesse but the price attracted me to RST and the fact that they did short leg sizes. You get what you pay for in the end.
My Dainesse stuff is about 5 years old now and is showing no signs of any wear. The RST stuff I guess I will be lucky to see another season in as the jackets fraying in places. Think I will put it all on ebay and put the money towards Alpinestar or more Dainesse kit next year.
Good luck with whatever you decide this is my experience of RST Kit hope it helps

I have the RST Paragon... Bought it at the beginning of the summer as I only had leathers before then and they were getting way too warm !!

Anyways its shower proof.. It hasn't got a gortex membrane or owt like that so you are just relying on surface repellent. Will prob give mine a coat of nikwax or summat soon just to bring it back.

Without the liners it great in the summer... With the liners in and the neck thing its been great in the winter.... Seems pretty well put together... No issues with comfort, even with my Knox back protector under it. The standard piece of faom seems a bit pointless.

You pays your money you gets your price.. If you want totally waterproof then you need to get something with gortex.

Final plus point... You don't look like a Complete Tosser in it...

Thanks for the info Guy,s ,I know that either suit i buy will only be showerproof "in the real world "I have wet gear to go over the top of the suit anyway.I think i will give the R S T Gear a go ,The salesman seemed keen to get a sale so i may get a few pounds knocked off,I spent £80 there last week on spares so fingers crossed for thursday evening.Cheers Francis
