Can't remember the name of the tyre - anybody have a clue what I'm on about/tried them?

Just remembered:

Metzler Roadtec Z6 - anybody know anything about these?

Michelin Pilot roads for me :clap

I'm on the second rear Pilot road and the front doesn't even look worn yet :thumb

Great for pissing on sports bikes :rob and super in the rain, only down side, is they do tend to wear out slightly quicker than the tourancy type tyres. :(

Tyre pressures 36 front 42 rear, awsome handling and no more twitching from the back when you're really giving it some out of a corner. :bounce1 (two up, full luggage, belting down/up an alp ;) )

im on my second set of 020's

the first rear was thru the limiter at 2500, the second is heading the same way

Sheese  makes my 3-4 K positively long lasting :thumb mind thats on a slow old 12RT ( a GS with knobs on :) )

Hi,
A month ago I changed from Anakees to Battlewings 501/502 on my R12GS.
The Anakee rear tyre drifted when driving in angle, because the negative profile running left/right from middle of tyre leads to wobbly behaviour IMO.
The Battlewings do a far better job, all of a sudden it's easy to accelerate in a tight bend, and I'm driving with much more confidence, my bike seems changed into a racing bike...
I've done some 1500 miles now, and even in the wet I'm having more fun.
No idea about longevity, though.
Cheers, GSband.

I initially had Metz Tourance on my GS1150, but changed to Bridgestone 020's as I felt grip was more important than wear or looks, plus after a couple of gentle green laning sessions I decided there are better suited bikes than the GS. The tourances were adequete but I feel more confident with the 020's when pushing the bike hard, I have no complaint at all regarding the 020's, plenty of grip for razzing about in the alps and twisty A and B roads, and good wet weather performance too. I'll be 'sticking ' with them!

.

I had Tourances originally, then changed to BT020s, but they wore much, much quicker, less than 4000 miles for a rear. Then went to TKC80s, which wore even quicker still. Now fitted a pair of Conti Roadattacks which are supposed to give big mileage for the sports tourer rider, the tread depth is incredible. Tried them in semi-anger for the first time this evening, as they are new on today, so had to take it easy. Very, very impressive. Seemed better than the BT020, but then I HAD just taken off knobblies, so not a fair comparison.
Oops, just realised this is the 1200 section. I'll get me coat :D
I'll send reports later of the wear rate... :thumb

brand new pilot sports today ist time on after using anakees trailwings o2os
and tourance

ist 020s

2nd tourance

3rdanakees

4th crap trailwings standard equipment on new gs ..pot luck just unlucky in the draw i suppose

all i can say that the pilots steer quickly still scrubbing in ..only done 7 miles keep you posted

020s will take some beating but i have had these highly recommended we will see

Having suffered the original Michelin T66 tyres on my 1150GS, (they were truly appalling in the wet), I am not really complaining at the original Trailwings on my 1200GS - I guess it's all relative. I replaced the T66s before they wore out, or perhaps more accurately before I crashed, but I'll suffer the Trailwings until they wear out.

Got Trail wings on mine. Cant say they have caused me any problems wet or dry. Mind you 4.5K & the back is shot, but I would still use them again.
