R100 GS PD Fuel Cap Seal!!

I have just acquired a PD tank for my R100 GS. I came with a non lockable fuel cap. However there is no seal between the inner metal cap face and the nylon tank face. Should there be a rubber seal? If so, does anybody out there have one for sale?

Yes, there should be a rubber seal (large rubber washer) - and no I don't have a spare...sorry!

This could end up as a very expensive seal as BMW don't sell it as a separate item. £37 for a new cap

Just a plain flat washer.
If its not available,cant see why you shouldnt be able to knock one up from a piece of 2mm thick rubber.

I have some rubber at work, i may be able to "knock one up" if it helps.

you could make one out of a old inner tube to get you by,, I have done this a few times in the past.

60mm O/D 38mm I/D 2.7mm thick on mine!
