Good Evening All,

I've not long picked up a 1983 R100, and am intending to slowly do a number of things to the bike.

It's a Cafe Racer style, which might not appeal to all, but hey I like it..

I'm looking to change the leather on the seat and am therefore looking for recommendations for a Reupholster - happy to post the seat off to the company if they're not local.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Recently had mine done by Mikeyboy’s man - not particularly cheap but excellent job!!

I find the biggest issue with trimmers/ upholstery guys is you need to be very specific with what you expect the end result to be.
As time/ tide said our guy is very good,
When we have a full seat done,he comes to our work shop with all of his kit to shape the foams on the bike ,he won’t leave to finish the seat at his shop till things are 100% right.
This normally takes a couple of hours minimum.

Looking at your photo,
The bike has some generic shiite cafe racer seat fitted.
We would want the bike on site, strip the upholstery and start from scratch if the existing base is worth the effort.
New soft foam, and finishing foam, cover to your requirements ,stitching to your spec..
Needless to say there wouldn’t be a big gap between the seat and tank😆

Thanks Mikey, I was just about to DM you.

I'm looking to end up with a seat not dissimilar to this one, though I've got a flat subframe of course.

As you say, the current seat is not great in any aspect other than it does fit!
The base of the seat I have is metal with bolt holes exactly where it needs to be, so I'd have thought worth hanging onto!

Though I'd not be able to get the bike up to you Mikey, if that then makes it a non starter..

Thanks

I've used elite, they do the work while you wait

Not overly expensive, either

Thanks guys, I’ve opted to go with a seat from Portugal with a new subframe too, I’ll upload some pictures once I’ve started. Building up a to do list on the R100, now to find the time to actually do it.
