Interesting :thumb

I have the same bike and have twin-plugged it. Starting isn't brilliant from cold and it looks as though I should start experimenting with jetting down.

I don't intend to skim the heads or start playing with the 'bean can' internals though (I replaced the advance springs recently).

I currently get 10 miles per litre - unless I hoof it on a Motorway.

Bob.

I've had two Paras and both had what I regarded as abysmal fuel consumption ie 40...on one occasion coming back from the BMF rally A1, Scotch corner and across a friend on a ZZR600 riding alongside returned 70mpg vs my 40. I am on my second big Guzzi and both (lemon11 & G5) have been capable of over 50 mpg as was my old 75/6.

Anyone want the magazine with the article before I bin it?

Very interesting article, not much that I don't know already, but nice to have the BMW perspective on it.

Any chance of a photcopy at all, before you send it ???????????????????

Thx
A photocopy of the first post ?
Would it not be better to print it off in glorious techni-colour?

a classic time period for performance bikes - when proper technical articles appeared under the guidance of the late John Robinson - technical editor.

No problem, what amazes me is how it got to you with an address as small as that !

BTW, that was a 2 pint favour. :D

r100gs tuning

My R100 is the bike that Straypuss mentions above and I can vouch for the bad mpg. I get 50 mpg from my '96 Audi A4 diesel with nearly 250K on the clock at 90 mph - 600 miles from a tank - so the airhead is quite pathetic on that front.
Does anybody have experience of rejetting as that seems to be a major element to improve and the article (and website the details are secret !!) does not elaborate?
Ta
Mike
