R100GS BACK BOX info

Hi, i am looking at getting a leather backbox made up for my R100GS, Does anyone have any good photos or dimentions etc of the OE box?.
Unless there is a reasonable supplier out there for OE or pattern box's ?.

I have the Seibenrock one occasionally fitted to my G/S - its OK, reasonable quality only, (ie not great - the overstraps are not quite wide or thick enough, the buckles rust as soon as you look at them, the fittings to screw it to the rack inside take up a fair bit of space) and if I were to lose it or it got nicked I wouldnt bother to replace it.

Is this for the Richard Strauss festival?

Or maybe for the BMW motorrad thing?

I would absolutley love to go (for the Motorrad thing) but sadly this is during my peak busy season - (I own and run a holiday let and run a couple of others on the Isle of Wight) so cant get away in summer - unless you were thinking of some other time?

With apologies to the OP whose thread we seem to have hijacked - last post from me on this promise!

Richard Strauss - one of the Strauss family, famous for writng cheesey Waltzes, who has a festival in his honour at about the same time as the BMW thing in Garmisch. Dont know why, but there you go...

I agree it would be great to get a flotilla together (I did half promise the G/S a trip to the fatherland at some point in the near future, probably to BMW Werk 3,to meet its maker, but this would serve very well indeed) so might be an idea to start a post on the trips or open invite threads.......now I know the date 7-9 July I will see what (if anything) I can do about weasiling out of my resposibilities here on IOW

Different shape to the original GS leather box.. The bottom rear edge was chamfered off on the original.

But if you just want a nice leather box rather than originality that italian job is nice.

That Italian one looks square at the bottom so it is either a bit narrower or it needs a 2" packer on top of the GS carrier to level it out.
But then I supposes most top boxes do, so it is not unique in this regard.
