CLUTCH ACTIVATOR HELP: as part of a deep refresher and restoration of my R100GS 1990, i rebuilt clutch and gearbox. New pushrod seals, clutch actuator bearings, new spring, new clutch cable. I was hoping the this would have made the leaver softer. It is still dam hard. Works smoothly but it is hard. Any tips? I guess it is the spring. Thanks

"....has no play on the lever....." means it isn't adjusted according to the 'book'.

And a long shot - do you have the correct spring?

Maybe it can be routed differently. mine always went over headstock and outside the frame in a big sweeping loop.
Once whilst at the GS rally in germany I bumped into a chap who had the softest ever clutch. It was a WUDO hydraulic converted one.
Also on an old trials triumph I had a clutch lighting box that made it only half as hard to pull using leverage in a little.

After playing around with cable, regulation of pushrod and leaver it is now better. Easier to activate, very smooth and even. Still heavy but it must be the way it is.

Thanks for the advises
