Hi Guys
Having finally ridden my newly aquired R100GS .. couple of items I'd like to know if theres any after market items ...

1. Standard clutch lever is to far away from my fingers ...anyone know of a "dog" leg type ?

2. Does anyone do a hydraulic clutch mod ? or will one from a 1150 or 1200 fit ?

3. Cant find the rear brake lever and need to extend the tip ...any aftermarket brake levers or shall I just weld on an extension ?

4. My "tiny" feet wont allow me to fully extend the side stand ... any ideas or replacements ?

Think thats the basics for now ... well happy with my first 1/2hr quick shake-down .

All best, thanks in advance for the replies

Hi Greg and welcome.
With regards to the sidestand there are one or two solutions - one is the Surefoot sidestand which is sadly no longer available but you might find one somewhere if you keep an eye out. If you do a search you should find some threads (like this one) discussing sidestands and mods people have made.
Or like me you'll just have to get used to dismounting and then applying the stand.

If yer clutch lever is tooo far from yer bar for your liking try putting a cable tie or two on the frame of the lever - this will stop the lever travelling all the way out/open
You will have to adjust yer cable to allow for the slack though

Go hydraulic if yer want to spend some dosh - Wudo do a conversion - or at least they were developing one last time I was attending one of their stalls

Brake lever extender http://www.bmwbikebits.co.uk/products/product-2686-Wunderlich-Brake_Lever_Enlarger.htm if you believe the words and not the picture.

And side stand enlarger: http://www.bmwbikebits.co.uk/products/product-3193-Wunderlich-Side_Stand_Enlarger.htm but like brassmonkey001 I have to get off the bike and then put it down.

I have seen adjustable aftermarket levers before, but can't remember where :o

Might be worthwhile searching on the F650 single sites as they tend to have riders with smaller hands than the 1150's etc ;) One is www.f650.co.uk

clutch cable

Cheapest solution is to fit the featherlight cable from motobins brill and does what it says on the tin (featherlight)

Clutch shouldn't be a problem if correctly adjusted and lubed - just buy a new cable and keep the old one as a spare, and set adjustment buy the book.
The clutch will release ok with 1/2" movement at the lever before it starts lifting the clutch , and that should give you a bit of room to block it back.
Not all BMW levers are interchangeable - there a few different thickness's at the pivot point - dont ask how I know.

I baulked at paying Touratech $30- for a brake pedal extender - my local metals merchant sold me a piece of 5 mm aluminium checker plate 100 mm x 600 mm for $5 and a 8 mm x 25 mm csk head bolt for another dollar - enough plate to make 50 extenders.
Pedal adjustment is behind the plastic side cover.

The stand is not as easy to fix as I haven't found any one who lists a aftermarket stand for the R100 GS.

The stand of a R100R is reputed to fit, but hard to come by.Don't even think of list price for a new one.

I ended up cutting a stand off a Jap wreck , and welding it to a 40 X 1O mm flat bar which is bolted to the rear engine mount one end and tucks up behind the footrest at the other.
I didn't need a longer engine bolt , but if you do they are not hard to come by as the earlier bikes had them , to hold the foot pegs on.
