Personally, I don't see much point in fitting spotlights to augment the main beam because traffic levels mean you spend most of the time on dip anyway, unless you live somewhere really remote where you seldom encounter other traffic.

I Do! I leave home at around 5.30am and if I see more than 1 or 2 vehicles on my 25 mile run through the lanes then it is unusual.

I strongly dislike auxilliary lights used with dipped beam as I feel that they detract from rather than enhance safety. I never have a problem with dipped beam whilst there is other traffic around and obviously I only use main with spots wired through the dip switch when ther are no other vehicles in view,
