Hi, what' the go to kit for lowering the riding rests on this wonderful but crippling bike? Inside leg of 29 and I feel my knees are up round my ears when riding along with my arse bones being so acutely angled on an already modified and well padded dual seat that I'm suffering. Have intentions to do some stella mileage on this animal but my bum and knees must be attended to first.

Hi, I did the footpegs and risers on my r80 G/S ...
- The Touratech Works Long Distance footpegs 'low' were a direct fitment ... they are a bit tight but I found they dropped the foot position down about 20mm and provide a really nice platform for sitting and standing, no adjustment to gear change required
- Voight 25mm bar risers ... these fitted into the existing lower 'cups', albeit not a perfect 'line-up' and you will need longer bolts than those provided in the kit, I also found that the cabling did not require any extending, there was plenty of slack to accommodate this change.
Massive improvement for me, although I am only 5' 8" (30 inch inside Leg), but the standing position is now day and night different.

recognise that it's different bike but might be a starting point

I have the Touratech foot rests and risers on my R100GSPD. They are good, if they are still available. They are grippier off road too.

SW Motech make some that are lower and also slightly adjustable. Various versions also available from Q-Tech. And, IIRC, footpegs from early r1200gs will fit.
