I got my rebuilt cylinder heads back today. Am I correct in measuring the end float between the plastic insert and the shim? If so the gap on the right hand side exhaust rocker is .06mm and the gap on the inlet is .09mm.
To ascertain the size of replacement shim to get within tolerance I used a micrometre to ascertain the thickness of the two shims on either rocker, on the inlet side the combined measurement was .568mm (.283+.285) In order to get a reduced tolerance I was considering replacing one of the shims with one measuring .35mm which I think would reduce the gap to about .04mm.
Can anyone confirm I have got this right as my head is going round in circles.....maths was never my strong point.
