r100gs silencer problem

hi all

i would like to now the best way to clean up my silencer as it need to be repainted with silencer/engine paint to stop more of it rusting thought.

plus the bottom of the silencer were it clamps to the down pips has now rusted thought. so that will be getting weld this week and i hope no more of it neededs weilding. as it is very loud riding the bike jsut now.

help is needed thanks.

TBH if your exhaust needs welding now to stop more rusting through..then it is false economy to repair as it WILL be heavily rusted in other areas.
If budget dictates, then after welding up..a fine wet n dry rub down ( on the exhaust, not yourself ) then and quality exhaust paint

well going to see tomrow if it can be weilded up and how much.
its a Sito Exhuast fitted just now.


i dont have 300+ spare for a new one

as it it is very loud just now so hope i dont get stoped on the way to the garage
